French bulldog mum North came in for an emergency caesarean section yesterday as she was in labour and had been straining but no puppies had appeared. There were 7 babies, so anyone available came to help and took a puppy as they were delivered. Caesarean puppies need stimulation and attention when they first emerge to help clear their airways, to encourage breathing and get their systems going.
It was Rodbaston student Lauren’s last day here, having been coming on a day’s placement each week for the past two years. What a way to finish! There is nothing quite like the tiny squeaking of a newborn puppy when they start to chat and tell you they are ok!
