We were delighted to welcome our Registered Veterinary Nurse Charlotte Radjenovic back from maternity leave earlier this month. Charlotte will be working three days a week in order to balance work with looking after her little boy Colby. We’ve loved having Charlotte in practice on ‘keeping in touch’ days whilst she’s been off – a big help to us, and for Charlotte, it’s meant coming back into practice after maternity leave hasn’t been so much of a change. She’s also been working towards completing her Veterinary Nurse Consulting Certificate over the last 12 months, and will be able to put new learning around preventative care and chronic and acute conditions to great use in the consult room!

Every December we run a ‘Give a Pet a Christmas Dinner’ campaign to support dogs and cats in local shelters waiting for their forever homes. We collect wet and dry food and treats, but also welcome pet accessories to provide homeless pets with a little extra festive love. Accessories can include collars, leads, toys, blankets, bedding, bowls – pretty much anything you think would be useful for feline and canine wellbeing and care. We collect throughout the month and donations are then distributed to Birmingham Dogs Home (Coven branch) and various local cat charities early in the new year.
Our collection bins are all set up and ready to receive in our 387 and West Midlands Cat Clinic waiting rooms! If you’d like to donate, we’d be incredibly grateful and we know pets in shelter – and the charities themselves – will be incredibly grateful too.

We love seeing what inpatients bring with them when they come on ward for the day! Sending your pet in with a little day bag to include a favourite blanket and a teddy or toy, together with a portion of the pet food they normally eat at home, all helps provide familiarity and comfort to furry visitors as the unfamiliar can feel a little daunting. It’s literally bringing in a little bit of home to help with emotional wellbeing and minimise stress.
This is very happy and beautifully bouncy black lab retriever Eddie who was in for an abdominal scan recently with his teddy. The eagle-eyed amongst us think teddy might be Doodles, the dog from CBBC’s The Tweenies. The pair were inseparable to the point where Eddie carried teddy with him wherever he went! Totally adorable best friends!
