If you are unsure whether your pet needs to see a vet urgently or are looking for some advice, don’t forget, all our registered clients have complimentary access to VidiVet, a vet triaging service available 24 hours of the day, 365 days of the year (and 366 days in a leap year!). It’s a brilliant resource for pet peace of mind and can be a great time and money saver. Submit your query and a vet will get back to you with a comprehensive response within minutes. Check communications from our practice for your VidiVet access link if you’re not already set up.

A massive shout out to our amazing reception team – Emma, Clare, Beth, Angie and Nikki – this Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week! Being a veterinary receptionist is a hugely diverse and busy role. As well as being our front of house representatives and the first touch point for clients contacting 387 Vets and the West Midlands Cat Clinic, our reception team triage cases to ensure you get the right care when you need it, book appointments, process payments, answer queries, dispense medications, transfer histories, liaise with clinical team, respond to WhatsApp messages, follow up test results, clean the reception, waiting and consult areas, ensure waiting room cat carrier covers, dog mats and treat jars are available and well stocked, that supportive literature is available in the waiting room, that client packs are made up … the list goes on! Being able to multitask is essential as is thriving on being busy and being passionate about the job. As well as being customer-facing and customer focused, our reception team are an invaluable support to the rest of our team and are integral to the success of the practice.
Reception team love meeting pets and people. They are helpful, compassionate, supportive, love seeing your pets as they move through various life stages and are always partial to a canine cuddle and a feline hello! Thank you Emma, Clare, Beth, Angie and Nikki for all you do!

If you’re popping into 387 Vets over the next few weeks, you’ll notice we have another small building project on the go. We’re delighted to welcome Lee and Tom Dakin from last year’s practice expansion project back on site to construct an enclosed porch at our main entrance. This will improve visitor experience, add an extra pet safety space between reception and the main road and will help to keep our reception team cosy in winter! We look forward to showing you the finished build!

This is 11 year old Sid who has recently been in for dental work with Selenia, our vet with a postgraduate certificate in small animal dentistry. We carry out staged dentals at 387 Vets. This means that procedures are time-limited to increase pet safety under anaesthesia so if a pet needs a significant amount of treatment, they will come in for more than one visit. Sid was a very brave boy, having 10 teeth removed at his first visit and 5 further extractions a month later.
