This will make a huge difference to the comfort of our 387 Vets reception and waiting room on chilly, windy days and adds an extra level of security for visiting pets as our front door will no longer exit directly onto our forecourt. To keep visitors safe during construction, we’re redirecting access through our emergency side door whilst the fitters are here. We can’t wait to see the finished porch!

Our team love celebrating the highs of pet ownership, but are also very aware that there will be times when comfort and compassion is a priority, not least when beloved pet companions reach end of life. We appreciate how much it matters that any requests relating to pet cremation, ashes return and memento choices are carried out correctly. To support this, our Registered Veterinary Nurse Mia has streamlined our deceased pet protocols, and is primary team member in charge of cross-referencing and checking records and paperwork before deceased pets leave practice for the pet crematorium. Thank you, Mia, for taking on this important responsibility, and for the care and compassion you show deceased pets making their final journey.

Cody is our Lead Nurse and holder of a Certificate in Small Animal Nutrition, as well as being a qualified Hills Nutritional Ambassador. She is part of our nursing team that runs our Weight Management Clinics to help pets enjoy a happier, healthier lifestyle. The clinic programme helps pets get into optimum body condition through a series of face-to-face sessions full of nutrition, treat and exercise advice specifically tailored to the individual. All attendees get their own log book and progress chart so it’s easy to track change.
Sherlock is one of Cody’s current clients and is doing brilliantly on his weight loss journey. The 7 year old beagle has been struggling with arthritis so signed up to Weight Management Clinics to lose weight and help ease the pressure on his joints. Sherlock has had 3 visits with Cody and is doing brilliantly. He’s lost an impressive 4 kilos in two months and his owner has already noticed Sherlock is much more energetic and is less stiff after longer walks. Keep up the good work Sherlock!

At 387 Vets and The West Midlands Cat Clinic, we’re proud to have a 16-strong nursing team of 12 fully qualified Registered Veterinary Nurses and 4 student nurses at varying stages of their Level 3 Veterinary Nursing Diploma.
